A.) I believe it is a civil rights violation to restrict patients at the proposed detox facility to not be able to walk and renew their license at the registry, get a cup of coffee, go to Elia’s store, get a hair cut, etc.
B.) It would be foolish for the Board to expect these patients to stay in the facility 24/7.
C.)The Board DOES NOT have to grant this special permit!!!!!!!!
D.)The is a strong probability that the facility will be tax exempt being a medical facility wish is exempt from paying town real estate taxes.
E.)The extremely toxic chemicals that are killing kids are also killing mothers who are cleaning up after a death. These will get into the water table and make their way into well fields and private wells. I did not hear the Board request a map of all private wells near this facility. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!
F.)The ground water bylaw will force all water into the ground on the site raising the water table and most likely causing the septic effluent to pollute trhe ground water. BAD BY-LAW!!!!!!!!
G.) I did not hear the board ask for the history of the septic problems on the site. All it would take is the pumping history. NOT very thoughtful on the Board’s part!!!
H.)The Town is already in the process of requesting an additional 8 hirees to the fire dept. This is mainly due to additional ambulance runs. BIG financial impact on a community with people being forced out of town due to higher taxes than they can afford.
I.)OPEB (other post employee benefits) is a major concern with the Town being self insured for employee health benefits including retirees and their family members. (HUGE CONCERN)
J.) Is it true that the proponent of the detox facility also owns a liquor store? Could this be a conflict of interest or at least something that flies in the face of a legitimate care for people or their families?
K.) I didn’t hear the board request an independent traffic study. They have this right.
