WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington native Sarah (McMahon) Gurry gave birth to her first child in February. The difficult delivery left her with a labrum tear in her hip.
“I had surgery the day my daughter turned 3 months,” says Gurry. “I found myself unable to care for my daughter without the help of my husband, mother, and father. I was out of work until August.”
The hip surgery caused Gurry to suffer a back fracture and bulging disc, which has sidelined Gurry again.
“I am currently faced with more medical bills for physical therapy, injections, an MRI that insurance refused to cover and may have to have surgery to fix the fracture,” explains Gurry.
A GoFundMe page has been established to cover Gurry’s medical expenses and rent.
“Between the bills from my daughter’s delivery, my surgery, physical therapy and the missed income, we are at a loss when it comes to paying for the upcoming injections, physical therapy and additional expenses, especially if my insurance keeps denying treatment,” says Gurry. “My husband and I greatly appreciate any help. Thank you for helping give Ella a healthy mommy!”
