POLICE LOG for October 10: Car Fire Damages 8 Vehicles; Shed Fire; Police Help Homeless Man

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, October 10, 2018:

  • A Pouliot Place resident reported his vehicle was egged. (8:58am)
  • Fire Department responded to a car fire in a parking lot on Ballardvale Street. Seven additional vehicles were damaged. No injuries reported. (9:23am)
  • Animal Control Officer extricated raccoon stuck between gutter and wall halfway on a building on Ballardvale Street. (11:05am)
  • Milestone Group Home staff reported a client walked away from school. (2:20pm)
  • Police spoke with a walk-in party who is homeless and requesting assistance. Keolis agreed to transport the man to Boston without fare. Police spoke with Boston homeless shelter that agreed to take man in. (3:01pm)
  • Fire Department responded to a shed fire on West Street. Hose was across West Street, which caused portions of the street to be shut down. No injuries noted. (3:37pm)
  • A Forest Street caller reported her neighbor repeatedly hit her fence and struck her dog. Police responded. (7:47pm)
  • A caller claimed a pickup truck ran a stop sign and nearly caused an accident. She followed him and now has him blocked-in on a dead-end street. Police responded. Operator admitted to stopping too late at the intersection. Caller was advised that she cannot detain people or vehicles at her discretion. (8:39pm)
  • A Wilmington man was reported missing after not returning home following a golf outing in North Reading at 2pm. BOLO put out and entered in NCIC. Cell phone was off, but last pinged in Burlington. Burlington Police unable to locate. (10:25pm)
