POLICE LOG for September 18: Shoplifting At CVS & Market Basket; Rain Causes Flooding On Multiple Streets; Trash Truck Damages Lawn

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, September 18, 2018:

  • Railroad crossing gates on Salem Street got stuck down multiple times. Keolis was notified. (7:18am)
  • A male shoplifter was reported from Market Basket. He left in a black 2006 Mazda heading southbound out of the plaza. (9:59am)
  • Police received reports of flooding in the Lowell Street area. Only one plane was passable by the bridge. AAA on scene towing vehicle. DPW replaced stormwater drain cover. (10:41am)
  • Police notified DPW of reported flooding at Middlesex Avenue/Jefferson Avenue and Salem Street. (11:32am)
  • Pembroke Street resident requested an officer view damage to front lawn possibly caused by trash truck. Police confirmed damage and spoke with Russell Disposal driver, who contacted his office to arrange repair of lawn. (12:41pm)
  • CVS Manager stated a white male about 6 feet tall, heavy set, walked out with a carriage full of diapers and wipes. Man got into a grey Ford Mustang. (3:59pm)
  • Employee of Speedway reported the operator of a black limo is inside the store smelling of alcohol and is concerned he may be intoxicated. Police followed limo and did not observe an erratic operation. Police spoke with driver, who checked OK. (11:07pm)
