POLICE LOG for September 13: Police Offers Mutual Aid To Andover During Fires; 200 Train Passengers Stranded At N. Wilmington Station

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, September 13, 2018:

  • Assistant Manager of Dunkin Donuts on Lowell Street called to report a vehicle has been parked in front of the business for a couple of days. Police got in touch with the owner, who stated the vehicle was broken down and was supposed to be towed yesterday. Owner will follow up with the garage. (4:32am)
  • Allstate Roadside called to report a subscriber was out of gas in the vicinity of Rocco’s Restaurant. Police were unable to locate. (5:10am)
  • A black 2016 Honda Pilot and a white 2015 Hyundai Tucson were involved in a crash at Church Street and Clark Street. Airbags deployed. No injuries noted. Both vehicles towed. (7:24am)
  • A SUV vs. motorcycle crash took place near Colonial Mall on Lowell Street. Off-duty Burlington Police gave description of SUV, which did not stop. Fire Department transported motorcycle operator. (7:31am)
  • A school official at the North reported a white Mercedes was in the rear parking lot with its doors open with operator taking photos. Police responded. Vehicle was involved in crash on 93. Owner was taking photos of damage and waiting for tow truck. (10:18am)
  • Fire Lt. reported railroad gates at North Wilmington station remained down for approximately 1 minute after train left. (11:10am)
  • A caller dialed 911 stating her TV was not working. Caller thought she was speaking with Verizon. (11:59am)
  • Police received report that youths were causing damage to the vacant Sonic building. Police responded. No new damage to building, but there was an audible alarm going off inside. Police sent youths on their way. (5:30pm)
  • Police provided mutual aid to Andover. (5:47pm)
  • Approximately 200 people from a train were left at North Wilmington station after parts of the Haverhill line were shut down due to the Merrimack Valley gas fires. (6:42pm)
