POLICE LOG for August 25: OUI Arrest; 2 Taken Into Protective Custody; Stove Fire

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, August 25, 2018:

  • A Melrose resident was taken into protective custody after he was found sleeping in his vehicle in the library’s parking lot. Police contacted the Tewksbury Treatment Center (Detox) at Tewksbury State Hospital twice, but received no answer. (1:38am)
  • A truck backed into a pole on Jones Avenue. No wires down. RMLD notified. (9:07am)
  • Police and Fire responded to a stove fire on Hobson Avenue. (11:01am)
  • A Woburn resident was taken into protective custody. An erratic operator was reported traveling north on Main Street. Vehicle pulled into Colonial Plaza and parked in front of Colonial Liquors. Police responded and put a 12-hour hold on the vehicle, which was towed. Man was eventually released to his girlfriend. (5:53pm)
  • Gregory Mercurio (29, Quincy) was arrested for OUI Liquor and Marked Lanes Violation. Mercurio was pulled over at Woburn Street and Andover Street. (9:48pm)
