POLICE LOG for August 19: Suspect Eludes Police After Crash; Driver Issued Summons; Man Living In Tent Near RR Tracks

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, August 19, 2018:

  • Moises Tulio DeOliveira (26, North Andover) was issued a summons for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Operator had a Brazilian ID. DeOliveira was pulled over on Route 125. (1:45am)
  • A caller reported a tall skinny male wearing jeans walked down River Street and looked into some vehicles. When the homeowner’s dog stated to bark, male got into an older model white pickup left. Vehicle fled from officer and crashed on Woodland Avenue. Party took off in foot through the woods towards Horseshoe Lane. State Police K9 responded. Suspect possibly injured as blood found outside of truck. Police contacted DPW regarding debris and large boulders that were struck. Police unable to locate. Vehicle towed. (3:56am)
  • A male party was sleeping at the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street overnight. Management want him to leave as he is disrupting business. Police moved the man along. He was offered assistance and resources, but turned them all down. (8:47am)
  • Police were flagged down by a Woburn Street resident reporting past vandalism to his fence. (11:11am)
  • A caller reported a male party was living in a tent near the tracks on Cedarcrest Drive. Caller also claimed there were a lot of needles in the area. Police responded and advised man to pack up and move along after cleaning up area. No needles were observed. (5:10pm)
  • A passerby reported a rug was in the middle of the road on Lowell Street. Police removed rug and placed on sidewalk. DPW was notified. (10:24pm)
