In The Community: The Wilmington School-Business Partnership will hold its 28th Annual Golf Tournament and Luncheon today at the Hillview Country Club in North Reading. Registration and a continental breakfast takes place from 7:15am to 8am. Shotgun start at 8:05am. Buffet luncheon and social hour begins at 12:30pm. Golf package includes: Continental Breakfast, Greens Fees/Golf Cart/Gift Bags, Contests on the Course; 50/50 Raffle; Gift Raffle; Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Team; and Buffet Luncheon. Proceeds will be benefit the organization’s Innovative Teacher Awards; School-To-Career Programs, Career Fair, DECA, and Academic Scholarships. At The Library: Help us celebrate the publication of the Library’s adult writing groups’ anthology, The Writers Next Door, with a book launch at the Wilmington Library at 7pm. Local authors contributed fiction and non-fiction stories, as well as poems. Their writings cover diverse topics like the Vietnam War, mothers and motherhood, romance, the supernatural, time travel, divorce, the beauty of nature, and cultural changes. In a panel discussion, the anthology’s writers will discuss how the book came to be and their contributions to it. A book signing will take place after the presentation–net proceeds of all book sales will be donated to the Friends. Refreshments served. [Learn more and register HERE.]
