POLICE LOG for August 15: Billerica Woman Issued Summons; Salem St. Roadwork Causes Car Damage; Bike Stolen

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, August 15, 2018:

  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred on Route 125 and Ballardvale Street. One driver received a written warning for marked lanes violation, adult seatbelt violation, and speeding. (6:33am)
  • A Douglas Avenue caller reported an injured rabbit in their yard. Animal Control Officer retrieved and brought to Best Pets Veterinary Hospital in Tewksbury. (9:58am)
  • Police responded to a holdup alarm at People’s United Bank on Main Street. Alarm was pressed by mistake. (11:02am)
  • A caller requested an officer after striking one of the raised sewer covers in the roadway on Salem Street due to the ongoing paving project. She lost her muffler and her vehicle is stuck in the roadway. Police notified AAA for a tow and transported caller to her residence. (1:35pm)
  • Police notified DPW that stop sign at Fairview Street and State Street was obstructed by overgrown branches. (3:11pm)
  • RMLD notified that telephone pole at intersection of Middlesex Avenue Ext. and East Street is cracked and looks like it could fall. (4:19pm)
  • Rebecca Lynne Ferry (29, Billerica) was issued a summons for Uninsured Motor Vehicle; Operating A Motor Vehicle With Revoked Registration; and Speeding In Violation Of Special Regulation. Ferry was pulled over on Grove Avenue. (4:38pm)
  • A caller reported his red trek bike was stolen 5 minutes ago outside of CVS. Police responded. Two youths took off from McDonald’s, behind Rite Aid. Police caught up with parties. Parents picked up juveniles. No further details (10:51pm)
