POLICE LOG for July 28: Car Crashes Into Bill Dube Hyundai; House Vandalized; North Reading Man Arrested

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, July 28, 2018:

  • Daniel James Hannan (28, North Reading) was arrested for OUI Liquor (3rd Offense); Failure To Stop For Police; Negligent Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Suspended License (Subsequent Offense); Speeding; Marked Lanes Violation; and Possession Of Open Container Of Alcohol In Motor Vehicle. A detail officer reported a vehicle bypassed a detail roadblock on Salem Street. Vehicle then stopped, but took off again. A car chase ensued. Billerica, Tewksbury, Chelmsford and Mass State Police notified. Hannan got out of his vehicle in Billerica and a foot pursuit ensued. He was eventually captured. (12:53am)
  • An employee reported a customer drove into a large window in the front of Bill Dube Hyundai on Main Street. Police responded and verified damage. Safety glass was shattered. No injuries. (10:44am)
  • A Quincy Street caller reported her house, yard and vehicle were egged and toilet papered overnight. (10:51am)
  • Airsoft riffle was located in a wooded area on Quincy Street. Police retrieved for destruction. (11:52am)
  • A northbound train was blocking Route 62 at North Wilmington station. (3:26pm)
  • Fire Department responded to grill fire at Regency Place on Horseshoe Lane. (6:41pm)
