POLICE LOG for July 24: Littering On Town Conservation Land; Truck vs. Pole; Train Track Issues

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, July 24, 2018:

  • A caller reported an injured seagull in the area of Andover Street. Animal Control Officer was unable to locate. (9:15am)
  • A caller reported a cement truck dropped cement in the middle of the road at Woburn Street and Salem Street. Truck stayed on scene. Benevento crew responded to clean up cement. (12:03pm)
  • A red 2010 Chevy Silverado struck a pole on Chestnut Street. Fire Department responded. No injuries noted. Vehicle towed. Pole damaged. RMLD and Verizon notified. (2:39pm)
  • A walk-in party reported contents of her bank CD were taken without her permission. (3:50pm)
  • A caller reported several teenagers were setting up camera equipment too close to to train tracks on Main Street. Police responded. Equipment was on the right side of the yellow safety line. No issue. (4:18pm)
  • Police witness people walking on train tracks behind Triton Car Wash on Main Street. Police advised parties to not trespass on tracks. (4:46pm)
  • Michael H. Cooper (59, Somerville) was issued a summons for Littering From A Motor Vehicle. Police responded to report of illegal dumping in town conservation area on Pinewood Road. (5:07pm)
  • Police noted the path between Benji Way and River Street has trash in it. It appears people may have been partying there. (5:17pm)
  • Police advised softball teams of alcohol rules at Town Park/Aprile Field. (6:43pm)
