POLICE LOG for July 16: Unlocked Car Entered; BB Gun Causes Damage; Trash Truck Takes Down Wires; Caller Makes Mistake

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, July 16, 2018:

  • Police noted that a MBTA train was blocking Route 62 at North Wilmington station. (6:13am)
  • A caller reported loose change was stolen out of her unlocked vehicle overnight on Moore Street. (8:36am)
  • Animal Control Officer removed a deceased bat from a home on Roosevelt Road. Bat will be brought to state lab for testing. (11:28am)
  • DPW reported a trash truck took down long hanging wires on Jere Road and left the scene. Police notified Verizon. (12:06pm)
  • A Chestnut Street caller reported a hole in her window from what she believes to be from a BB gun. Police confirmed damage. (2:56pm)
  • A Marion Street caller requested a box of ammo be retrieved. Police responded. (4:44pm)
  • A caller stated $200 was taken from the center console of his truck while in the Elia’s parking lot. Caller was suspicious of a male party at Elia’s that he saw on the street earlier. Police responded. Male party denied any wrongdoing. Caller later called station to report he had made a mistake and found the $200 at home. (8:52pm)
  • A Cumberland Farm employee reported a male party was soliciting for money. Caller said male was acting erratically and possibly under the influence. Police responded, but were unable to locate individual in question. (10:19pm)
