POLICE LOG for July 13: Wilmington Man Arrested For OUI; Firework Complaints; Drugs Found; Plants Stolen From Yard

(Editor’s Note: The Police Department has not uploaded its police log from Thursday, July 12, 2018 yet.  I’ll circle back to it once the log is up.)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, July 13, 2018:

  • A caller reported a coyote in her neighbor’s back yard on Clark Street. (6:55am)
  • A caller reported raccoons were living in their shed. Animal Control Officer to offer advice. (7:45am)
  • A caller reported a bat was inside her Burlington Avenue home. Animal Control Officer could not locate. Caller advised to call back if bat reappears. (8:08am)
  • A caller reported a portapotty at a construction site on Moore Street appears to be leaking into a nearby catch basin. Police notified DPW and Board of Health. (10:16am)
  • A Veranda Avenue caller reported finding what he believes to be drug paraphernalia. Police retrieved items, which were confirmed to be paraphernalia and narcotics, and returned to station for destruction. (11:58am)
  • A Sequoia Drive caller reported large potted plants were taken from in front of their home and driveway. (2:36pm)
  • A Park Street caller reported someone is shooting fireworks in the area. Police responded and spoke to Park Street residents who admitted to shooting off the fireworks. They stopped for the evening. (9:25pm)
  • Police were off with a vehicle in a Shawsheen Avenue parking lot. Driver was attempted to do “donuts,” but could not because he can’t drive stick. Police sent him on his way and advised him on the consequences if seen in lot again. (9:43pm)
  • Robert W. Canning (56, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor (2nd Offense); Negligent Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; Marked Lanes Violations; and Possession Of Open Container Of Alcohol In Motor Vehicle. (11:13pm)
  • Police responded to fireworks in the area on Lowell Street. Police were unable to locate anyone, but did observe what remains of used fireworks at the scene. (11:23pm)
