POLICE LOG for July 7: Drugs Found In Liquor Store; Suspicious Vehicle In School Lot Leads To Marijuana Questions; Laser Pointer Distracting Drivers

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, July 7, 2018:

  • A caller reported a person in a vehicle was aiming a green laser at passing vehicles on Main Street. (12:22am)
  • Police came across parties flying a drone at Yentile Farm. Police sent them on their way and told them they could go to a parking lot on Industrial Way to test out their new drone. (12:44am)
  • Railroad gates at Main Street in front of MBTA Parking Lot was stuck down for at least 10 minutes. Police notified Keolis. (4:47am)
  • Employee at Eastgate Liquors reported finding two small bags of narcotics on the floor. Police responded. (8:12am)
  • A hit and run was reported in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Ballardvale Street. (1:01pm)
  • A dog was left in a car on Salem Street, breathing heavy, with windows not down. Police responded. Dog’s owner was currently being treated in the emergency room. Police were able to rectify the situation. (3:35pm)
  • Police were out with a vehicle in the Shawsheen School parking lot. Police smelled an odor of marijuana. Occupant claimed it was residual odor and they stopped to eat ice cream. Police advised them of the laws of drugs on school property and sent them on their way. (9:27pm)
  • A vehicle struck a parked car on Shawsheen Avenue. Both vehicles towed. No injuries noted. (9:41pm)
