WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, July 6, 2018:
- Police out with a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Enterprise on Main Street. Clear. Parties were eating takeout from Simards and sent on their way. (12:54am)
- Fire Department responded to a vehicle on fire on Salem Street. (7:50am)
- A caller reported a large terrier mix was in a vehicle with windows barely cracked and engine off, with dog barking. Temperature was 87 degrees. Police responded and made contact with the owner, who claimed dog is not in distress and vehicle was left on. Police received subsequent multiple calls, saying dog was in distress and vehicle was not running. Police returned, but vehicle was gone upon arrival. (3:59pm)
- An Evergreen Drive caller reported two Hispanic males with beards walking around the building, ringing every doorbell. When no residents buzzed in, they picked the lock to enter. Police responded. Men were part of the building’s cleaning crew and were let in by another crew member. No lock was picked. (6:32pm)
