WILMINGTON, MA — The next batch of Wilmington Recreation Department’s Summer Programs begins on July 9!
Kayaking Class
Get out on the water! The ‘Adventure Kids’ Beginner Kayaking class will expose children age 8 – 15 to this relaxing family-friendly activity. Participants will learn kayaking skills through fun games and activities, and overcome individual and team challenges. This program runs Mon. – Fri., July 9 – 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. All equipment and lifejackets are provided. Cost is $215.
Minecraft Mania
“Minecraft Mania” is a STEM program for children entering grades 1 – 5 that explores science concepts using the world of Minecraft. Your child will learn aspects of geology, physics, engineering and more while they complete challenges in a virtual Minecraft world. Mon. – Fri., July 9 – 13 from 9:00 a.m. – 3 p.m. Cost is $290.
Tennis Lessons
Evening Tennis Lessons also return on Monday evenings, July 9 – Aug 6. These clinics will teach basic tennis skills through drills and mini-matches that are designed to improve your game. Children entering grades 4 – 6 will have class from 5 – 6 p.m. and those entering 7 – 12 will have class from 6 – 7 p.m. Cost is $60.
Ballet Lessons
Looking for something new for your 3- or 4-year old? The Lorraine Spada School of Dance is offering Beginner Ballet Lessons on Fridays, July 13 – August 17
(6 weeks) from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. This class is a great way to introduce music and movement into your child’s life. They will have so much fun twirling, skipping and hopping through this class! This is a great opportunity for them to try out a new activity without a big commitment. Cost is $52.00 (ballet slippers are optional).
