VIDEO: Firefighters Extinguish Out-Of-Control Bonfire On Middlesex Ave.; Police Issue Reminder Of Open Burning Laws

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Police Officers at the Fun On The Fourth festival quickly responded to a Middlesex Avenue residence on Sunday, July 1 when they observed a large fire in a yard. Upon arrival, officers found a bonfire that was quickly getting out of control. The fire was less than 50 feet from a barn. Officers radioed for the Fire Department to respond and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Residents are reminded that open burning is only allowed between January 15 to May 1 and residents must obtain a burn permit from the Fire Department in advance. More information about open burning is available HERE.
