SELECTMEN NEWS: Big Issues To Be Discussed At Tonight’s Meeting (June 25)

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Monday, June 25, 2018 at 7pm at Town Hall (Room 9).

There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • Selectmen will consider Town Manager Jeff Hull’s reappointment and contract renewal.
  • Selectmen will consider the appointment of Town Counsel.
  • Selectmen will receive a notice of intention to retire from Town Accountant Michael Morris.
  • Selectmen will consider finalizing a process to fulfill the vacancy on the School Committee after Peggy Kane’s resignation.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on the reappointments and appointments to the Finance Committee.
  • Selectmen will hear from Police Chief Michael Begonis and Fire Chief Joseph McMahon regarding concerns involving the North Wilmington Rail Crossing.
  • Selectmen will receive an in-person update from Elderly Services Director Terri Marciello and Case Manager Laura Pickett on Senior Center activities.
  • Selectmen will receive a letter from Assistant Attorney General Margaret Hurley regarding the ruling of Article 2 of the December 2017 Special Town Meeting.
  • Selectmen will receive an update on Analog Device’s Tax Increment Financing (TIF).
  • Selectmen will receive a letter from the Wilmington Environmental Restoration Committee regarding Town Counsel.
  • Selectmen will consider the request of Samantha Reif, on behalf of the Wilmington Substance Abuse Coalition, to use Town Common and Gazebo for Candlelight Vigil on Monday, September 17, from 5pm to 10pm. Reif is also requesting that the Town Common be illuminated purple in September in observance of National Recovery Month.

An Executive Session precedes the meeting at 6pm.

The meeting will be telecast live by Wilmington Community Television on WCTV-G — Channel 22 on Comcast and Channel 38 on Verizon.  The meeting will also be streamed on WCTV’s website HERE.
