FITCHBURG, MA — Fitchburg State University recently held its 122nd commencement exercises.
Two Wilmington residents were among the graduates:
- Julie A. Jewkes, BS, Nursing
- Dylan L. Walsh, BS, Business Administration
The address at the undergraduate ceremony was delivered by Brig. Gen. Frederick A. Henry, U.S. Army, retired, a 1984 alumnus.
Resident Richard S. Lapidus also recognized Kristen Ann Windoloski of Easthampton as the undergraduate valedictorian. The mathematics major will continue her education with a full scholarship to a master’s and doctorate program at North Carolina State University.
The President’s Medal was awarded to Our Father’s House, a social service agency serving the homeless in Northern Worcester County.
Michelle Downey of North Andover received the Graduate Student Leadership Award in recognition of her work during the pursuit of a master’s degree in special education.
In all, the university conferred more than 700 graduate and undergraduate degrees this spring.
