WILMINGTON, MA — James P. “Jimmy” Winnett, age 57, of Malden, passed away on June 14, 2018.
Jim was the cherished son of the late William H. and Maureen P. “Maura” (Carew) Winnett, dear brother of Christine M. Briggs & her companion Mark Depasquale of Salem, NH, William H. Winnett, Jr. of Taunton, Margaret M. Winnett-Welch of Haverhill, Mary A. Giroux of Wilmington, MA, Paul J. Winnett of Billerica, MA, Francis X. Winnett and Elizabeth M. Lawrenson & her husband Jerry all of Wilmington, MA, loving uncle of Meaghan E. Strasshofer & her husband Sean, Katie Briggs, Devin P. Giroux, the late Joshua R. Giroux, the late Ryan M. Giroux, Nolan E. Giroux, James Lawrenson, Tommy Lawrenson, Sophie Welch and Jeremiah Welch. Jim is also survived by his good friend Henry Ferrick of Malden, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, June 19th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours were held at the Funeral Home on Monday, June 18th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Fisher House Foundation, 12300 Twinbrook Pkwy, Suite 410 Rockville, MD 20852.
