WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School Varsity Softball team (13-7 in the regular season) were beaten by Dracut High in a walk-off by a score of 1-0 on Thursday, June 7 in first-round state tournament play.
“It was a great game both teams with outstanding pitching and defense,” said WHS Softball coach Audrey Cabral-Pini. “This game was decided in the bottom of the seventh, when the [Dracut] Middies had two infield hits and, with two outs, got the timely hit that the Wildcats couldn’t get in the top of the seventh when we left two runners on base.”
