POLICE LOG for May 31: Fire Department Responds To Fires; Bad Highway Crash; Driver Arrested; Summons Issued

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, May 31, 2018:

  • Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a house fire on Nassau Avenue. (3:25am)
  • An accident between a cruiser and another vehicle took place on Nassau Avenue. No injuries noted. (3:42am)
  • Fire Department responded to reports of a mulch fire on Old Main Street. (6:27am)
  • An employee reported a patient’s wallet was stolen. Police later learned that wallet was moved from a family member during a cleaning. No theft occurred. (10:06am)
  • Officer relocated a birds nest from a dryer vent at a Castle Drive house. (11:18am)
  • A 4-vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer took place near 93 North Exit 40 ramp. Police, State Police, and Fire Department responded. Portion of 62 and off-ramp were temporarily shut down. 4 vehicles towed. (1:04pm)
  • An individual brought a small baby duck to the Animal Control Officer, who transported it to a rehab. (1:28pm)
  • A Cheyenne Drive caller reported his mailbox was struck between 9am and 3pm. (5:52pm)
  • Robert Newton (43, North Andover) was arrested for Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Suspended License (Subsequent Offense); Warrant; and Speeding. Netwon was pulled over on Butters Row. (5:57pm)
  • Fire Department responded to brush fire on Suncrest Avenue. (10:52pm)
  • Zachary A. Kangas (26, Salem, NH) was issued a summons for Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Revoked Or Suspended Registration; Uninsured Motor Vehicle; and Registration Not In Possession. Kangas was pulled over on Middlesex Avenue. (11:06pm)
