POLICE LOG for May 5: Suspected Drunk Driver; Hit & Run; Mulch Fire

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Saturday, May 5, 2018:

  • Tewksbury Police asked Wilmington Police to help look for a Wilmington resident involved in an incident at Maverick’s Bar & Grill in Tewksbury. Tewksbury Police eventually located the resident. (12:22am)
  • An Oakdale Road resident turned in bullets to police. (8:09am)
  • A caller reported that when a driver got into his truck, beer cans fell out and he could smell a strong odor of alcohol. Police were unable to locate vehicle. (10:06am)
  • Police assisted the Fire Department with a mulch fire on Andover Street. (1:30pm)
  • A hit and run, causing minor vehicle damage, took place in the lot behind the Public Safety Building. (5:54pm)
  • A caller reported that while stopped on a red light on Route 62, a vehicle pulled up next to her and the driver said, “watch out next time.” Driver drove into North Reading. Police transferred caller to North Reading police. (8:57pm)
  • Police were out with an individual sleeping in a vehicle in the Windsor Place parking lot. Party said he pulled over to use his phone and fell asleep. A field sobriety test was conducted and driver was sent on his way. (10:13pm)
