Dear Wilmington residents,
On Monday evening I took part in my last meeting as a member of Wilmington’s Board of Selectmen. In late 2017, I made the decision to not seek reelection for a 4th term. That decision became a MUCH easier one for me to make, the day Jonathan Eaton advised me that he would be vying for the job this spring. I have had the good fortune to be able to work with Jonathan in local business matters, Rotary, and as colleagues in local government in his capacity on the Finance Committee. And, I am happy to call him a friend. Jonathan has all of the intellectual and communication skills that will make him a superb member. And, he also has a deep sense of commitment and passion for our great community for its present and its future.
As I depart my elected service, I feel a very strong obligation to leave the town moving in a positive direction. With Jonathan Eaton on The Board of Selectmen, I know I am fulfilling that obligation. So, I ask all residents, who I have been grateful to have had the opportunity to serve through the years, to please join me in voting to elect Jonathan Eaton as Wilmington’s next Selectman this Saturday.
Thank you,
Mike Champoux
