LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Former Town Moderator Jim Stewart Endorses Rob Peterson

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to ask the voters of Wilmington to support Rob Peterson for Town Moderator.

Three years ago we elected Rob as our new Moderator.  At that time, I endorsed Rob based on his involvement in Town, his lifelong residence in Wilmington and his high standard of values.

This year, I ask you to support him again for the same reasons and also, because of the great job he has done since we elected him Moderator. Knowledge of the rules, patience, consistency, impartiality and fairness are all critical qualities of a good Moderator.  Rob has demonstrated all of these over the past 3 years.

This year the choice for Moderator, I believe, is crystal clear.  The need to have a calm, reasonable and knowledgeable person running Town Meeting is critical to maintaining unbiased control of the most Democratic process anywhere.  I ask that you support Rob Peterson as Wilmington Town Moderator.

Sincerely,

Jim Stewart

  1. 1.) Is the previous moderator’s son still working for the construction company that builds bank branches for the bank that holds the largest deposits for the Town of Wilmington?

    DIRECTOR OF PRE-CONSTRUCTION
Greg oversees the estimating, planning and pre-construction phase of all projects undertaken by Jewett Construction. Greg’s experience with Design-Build methodology and commercial projects across many industries make him a valuable member of the Jewett team. Greg’s attention to detail and systematic approach to estimating provides each building owner project transparency throughout the construction process. This helps the client achieve their budget goals while creating the best overall project value.

2.)Is there a particular reason why My civil rights are denied me when it comes to questioning banking and the pittance level of interest we are receiving?
3.) Would it be fair to say that moderators that behave contemptuously toward the U.S. Constitution are enemies of the country founded on such constitutional rights and enemies of the people that they’re begging for votes from?
4.)The current moderator had to take up a second vote on article 3 at the December Town Meeting because he didn’t know what he was doing? A zoning change requires a 2/3 vote. A moderator with a clue would have known that. It is good that someone told him what to do to get it right after the first vote.
5.) The remaining people of Wilmington, who have not been forced out yet due to fraudulent budgeting and over taxation, are facing a budget of $114,400,729. This put forth by a manager being paid more than the Governor of Massachusetts.
6.) It is time for CRISIS INTERVENTION: Time to vote for Kevin MacDonald for Moderator who has pledged to not deny people their civil rights and their right to debate and challenge crooked government.

    1. So have you been taking advantage of the ON LINE banking ? And we the public would like to see YOUR bank statements , business and personal. We are more concerned with the interest rate that YOU calmed is much higher than any local bank has.

      1. 1.) Am I taxing you Paul? Would you like me to?
2.) Do you enjoy being lied to?
3.) Do you enjoy having your family’s finance ripped off through phoney fraudulent over budgeting so
big bank balances can be built up and invested in other communities other than Wilmington?
4.) Do you think paying close to 4% on the bond for $44,190,758 is wise when $72,000,000 gets less
        than 1%?
5.) What are you offering for solutions? Force people out of their homes and town where they have
        lived all their life?
6.) How long will it be before you’re forced out of your home?
7.) Do you want to vote for a Moderator who will protect your civil rights, especially, the right to freely
speak at Town Meeting and to freely hear important helpful information? I am the ONLY one to
        vote for to ensure this.

    2. Wow! The former town moderator’s son works for a construction company. That’s quite a bomb shell. How much of our Town Meetings’ time will be taken up with these kinds of nonsequitors if you were somehow elected? I’m guessing lots.

  5. Your civil rights are not being denied; you are speaking out of order on a point of information that does not pertain to the nature of the question. Please review Robert’s Rules of Order. You wouldn’t allow these violations of protocol if you were moderator, would you? Set an example!

    1. The Town of Wilmington has over $72,000,000 in a few banks. Many accounts pay less than 1%, There are at least two banks that do not even have branches in Wilmington. The bank that is holding over $32,000,000 is paying less than 1.26%. Asking the question: “are these banks in compliance with the “Community Reinvestment Act”? ” most certainly pertains to the nature of the question when the question on the floor pertains to depositing funds into banks doing business in Massachusetts. Question 1.) Mike: Do you like being hammered in taxes as a result of fraudulent over budgeting for the purpose of building up bank balances so banks can invest in other communities and enrich them?
Question 2.) Mike: Are you alright with the following: A child makes friends in his or her neighborhood, makes friends in school, and develops relationships through youth sports then has to move away because his or her family is forced out of town because they can’t afford the taxes. The child goes through this traumatic event. Are you alright with contributing to this?

  6. It is so sad that sometimes when you DO actually make a decent point on something it gets lost in the rambling nonsense displayed above. Also, following your logic, wouldn’t it be a denial of one’s civil rights to either put someone’s career in jeopardy without due process of law or to not allow someone to work at the company of their choosing based on a conspiracy theory?
