POLICE LOG for April 4: Squirrel Causes Car Accident; 2 Summons Issued; Bikes Stolen; Truck vs. Fence

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, April 4, 2018:

  • A sinkhole is starting to open up again on Lowell Street, prior to the Woburn Street intersection. Police notified Northeastern Development. (12:50am)
  • Police issued a summons to Sherry L. Stanley (36, Tewksbury) for having an Uninsured Vehicle and Operating A Motor Vehicle with A Revoked Or Suspended Registration. (6:56am)
  • Police issued a summons to Stephen A. Calouro (41, Lowell) for having An Expired Or No Inspection Sticker and Operating A Motor Vehicle with A Revoked or Suspended Registration. (8:56am)
  • A caller reported two bicycles were stolen from a bike rack on Avalon Drive. (10:40am)
  • A caller reported a truck struck a fence and guardrail on Adams Street. Damage also done to a Middlesex Avenue yard. Operator returned to scene with wife. He claimed he fell asleep while driving. He displayed no signs of impairment. He arranged for fence repair. (5:55pm)
  • Police assisted a party after she locked her keys in the vehicle after getting out to see if she hit a squirrel on Glen Road. Vehicle backed into pole. No damage to pole. Minimal damage to pole. (8:11pm)
