For many years, Jessie, worked as an electronics technician for the Photon Company in Wilmington. Jessie always had a great work ethic and made many friends with her co-workers throughout the years.
Jessie loved being with her family and she was especially close to her nieces, nephews, and their children. Jessie looked forward to taking them away every summer; they always went on an adventure whether it was camping or heading to the beach and everyone had a great time. Jessie loved to travel where she would see new places and meet new people. She especially loved to re-connect and visit her family in Canada as often as she could throughout the years.
In her spare time, Jessie enjoyed bird watching and taking care of her animals. She had a soft heart and fondness for all kinds of animals; Jessie was known to adopt a few over the years and she was truly amazing with them.
Jessie was one of the Charter members of the Sweet Adeline’s Chorus with her sister Hilda. Jessie and Hilda thoroughly enjoyed performing at their many concerts and sharing a special friendship with the other ladies in the group.
Jessie will be fondly remembered as a wonderful lady who was fiercely independent; she always drove around to do her own errands and visit with family and friends until she gave up her driver’s license at the age of 100. She had a big heart and would do anything for anyone; Jessie was truly special and she will forever be missed by all who knew and loved her.
