POLICE LOG for March 15: Mysterious Package; Hit & Run; Car Slides Off Road; School Bus Accident

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, March 15, 2018:

  • Police responded to a car off the road on Chestnut Street. Car got back on the road. DPW on scene salting the area. (7:25am)
  • Police observed an elderly operator sideswipe a vehicle and continue north on Main Street, possibly unaware of the damage, while the other vehicle pulled into Wilmington Crossing plaza. Police issued a citation for unsafe lane change. (10:57am)
  • Assistant Director of Woodbriar Nursing Home reported a possible assault on a resident. (11:15am)
  • Police arrested Alelia Whalen (34, Wilmington) on a warrant of apprehension. (3:06pm)
  • A Boutwell Street resident reported a package was left at her door, addressed to an unknown male. UPS claims they had no delivery to her house today. Caller requested an officer examine it. Caller was advised to have UPS retrieve the package. (3:23pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash occurred on Main Street. One of the vehicle was a school bus with three children on board. No injuries. (3:37pm)
  • The Target security manager requested a police officer to view security video and photos. (5:30pm)
