POLICE LOG for March 13: Vehicle Towed For Impeding Snow Removal; Complaint Over Plowing; Resident Threatens Plow Driver

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, March 13, 2018:

  • A parked gold Pontiac Sedan was impeding snow removal on Nelson Way. Police knocked on doors in the neighborhood, but could not identify owner. Vehicle was towed. Parking citation issued for impeding snow removal. Vehicle owner eventually called in to station and was notified of towing. (8:5am)
  • A resident reported a red pickup truck plowed a bunch of snow in front of his driveway on Brentwood Avenue. Police advised it was part of the snow removal process, but often advised he can choose to file a complaint with DPW. (10:30am)
  • Police investigated a past hit and run on Shawsheen Avenue. Pieces of the vehicle was found in a driveway. (3:17pm)
  • A car went into a snowbank at Church Street and Adams Street. Vehicle towed. No damage. (6:07pm)
  • Patches Pond Lane resident reported unfamiliar male party wearing a red jacket and backpack knocked on his door. Caller believed he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Police located man and transported him to the care of Tewksbury Police. (6:50pm)
  • Wires came down on a cruiser on Middlesex Avenue. RMLD, DPW and Fire Department responded. (8:36pm)
  • Taplin Avenue resident reported two African American males approached her, offering to shovel her driveway. She had not seen these men in the area before. Men were last seen on Taplin, heading towards Wisser. Police responded. Both individuals were located on Hobson. They checked out OK and are headed to home. (9:29pm)
  • A plow truck driver reported a resident from Birchwood Road made threats towards him. Police spoke with both, who admitted a mutual verbal disagreement. Police advised them to stay away from each other. (9:40pm)
