POLICE LOG for February 27: North Reading Man Arrested For B&E; Shoplifter Steals $100 Worth Of Lobster From Market Basket

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, February 27, 2018:

  • Michael A. Maksou, Jr. (21, North Reading) was arrested for Breaking & Entering A Vehicle/Boat In The Nighttime To Commit A Felony. A Blueberry Lane caller reported a male party was inside her vehicle, described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, with black hair wearing a red & black parka-type jackets. Male was last seen fleeing into the woods.  Wilmington Police responded. K9 requested. North Reading Police detained the suspect. (2:33am)
  • A black 2015 Mitsubshi Highland struck a mailbox and damaged a lawn on Boutwell Street. Police requested a street sweeper to clean up debris. Vehicle was towed. (6:59am)
  • A caller reported a bicycle was left in the Wilmington KofC parking lot for the past week. DPW retrieved and brought to station. (10:09am)
  • A caller found a gun in the woods off of Pembroke Street. Police responded. Gun was a pellet gun. Police retrieved. (12:15pm)
  • A Market Basket manager reported a man walked out with $100 worth of lobster. Driver got into a tan Toyota Camry. Police were unable to locate. (12:59pm)
  • A Jere Road caller reported a few squirrels were lose in her basement.  Animal Control Officer responded. The critters were chipmunks. Officer will return in the morning. (3:58pm)
