POLICE LOG for February 22: Wilmington PD Assists Tewksbury PD With Car vs. Pedestrian On Route 38; Railroad Gates Get Stuck

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, February 22, 2018:

  • Callers reported railroad crossing gates were down and stuck on Middlesex Avenue. (7:14am) …. Callers reported railroad crossing gates were down and stuck on Salem Street. (7:20am)
  • Wayne Harry Francis (40, Wilmington) was issued a summons for having an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. (8:44am)
  • Fire Department responded to smoke inside a residence on Columbia Street. (11:32am)
  • A Taft Road resident reported a past credit card fraud. (1:56pm)
  • Police assisted with traffic on the Tewksbury town line due to a pedestrian accident in their town. A portion of Route 38 was shut down. (7:11pm)

From the Tewksbury Police Department:

“On February 22, 2018, at approximately 7:00 P.M., Tewksbury Police Officers responded to the area of 2516 Main St. for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

Officers arrived on scene, whereupon they located the victim, a 50 year old male, lying on the double solid center line of Main Street (Rt. 38) with serious injuries. The victim received immediate medical attention and was subsequently transported to an area hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. The sole occupant male driver of the single motor vehicle involved did not exhibit any apparent injuries. Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services were summoned to the scene of the accident. This accident is currently under investigation.”
