POLICE LOG for February 11: Mailbox Smashed; Suspicious Vehicle; Mail Tampered With

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Sunday, February 11, 2018:

  • A caller reported youths were smashing mailboxes in the Shawsheen Avenue area. Mailbox at #45 was smashed. Police were unable to locate any parties in the area. Mailbox was returned to #45 with a note to contact the station for the report. Check of area revealed no additional mailboxes damaged. (1:45am)
  • A Sheridan Road resident reports a possible injured fox in the area. (9:44am)
  • A caller reported her wallet was stolen out of her purse while shopping at Target. Caller called back to report she found her wallet in her vehicle. (11:14am)
  • A caller reported a vehicle has been parked in front of her Hathaway Road house for the last two days. Open purse and open glove department is noticeable from window. Police responded. Car checked secure. Not reported stolen. Caller advised to contact the station if anything changes. Caller will contact neighbors to see if car belongs to a guest. (5:14pm)
  • A walk-in party reported mail containing her social security number was opened. (5:20pm)
