POLICE LOG for February 6: Hypodermic Needles Found; Erratic Operator; Deer Struck; Oven Fire

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, February 6, 2018:

  • Wilmington DPW reported hypodermic needles in the Ferguson Road & Shawsheen Avenue area. Police will dispose of needles at station. (7:27am)
  • A caller reported one of the drive-thru windows at Sonic is wide open. Property owner secured the building. (8:33am)
  • A caller reported a large sheet of ice is forming on Main Street near the Town Park. Ice formed due to water runoff from the dog park. Police notified Water Department, who notified the state for sand. (8:44am)
  • Police received report of a white pickup swerving and operating excessively slowly on Lowell Street. Police caught up with driver, who said he was running on very little sleep. Son and wife enroute. Son took control of the vehicle. (9:06pm)
  • A caller reported a deer was struck in the roadway on Woburn Street, but got up and ran into the woods. (10:26pm)
  • Fire Department responded to oven fire on Swain Road. (10:32pm)
