POLICE LOG for January 24: See Something, Say Something; Homeowners Mistaken For Burglars

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, January 24, 2018:

  • A Shady Lane Drive caller reported two parties were looking in windows of a home. Described as wearing large winter jackets walking towards Middlesex Avenue. Police spoke with the parties at Dunkin Donuts. Parties were seeing if anyone was home. Parties were advised not to go back to residence. Police spoke with resident of home, who had an active no trespass order against one of the parties. (11:55am)
  • A Main Street caller reported a disgruntled former employee just came to the job site, but eventually left. (12:23pm)
  • A Lawrence Court resident reported she is receiving annoying phone calls from a scam regarding a warranty on her vehicle. Caller wanted the incident logged and is working on getting the number blocked. (1:27pm)
  • Animal Control Officer assisted a resident with loading a deceased dog into a van. (2:22pm)
  • Dunkin Donuts employees on Main Street requested an officer make contact with a male customer, described as an older white male wearing a sombrero and carrying a stuffed animal, claiming his parents are dead and he has no one to care for him.  Police contacted Advocates and a social worker. (5:08pm)
  • A gray 2012 Toyota Tundra and a gray 2009 Toyota Avalon were involved in a crash on Woburn Street. One occupant complained of back pain and was transported by Fire Department. One vehicle towed. (5:57pm)
  • An anonymous caller reported there may be someone in vacant house on Grove Avenue cutting copper piping. Police responded. Individuals were the home’s new owners. (7:06pm)
