Art Workshop: Drawing from Life *RR
Saturday, January 27, 9:30 am-12:30 pm
New to drawing or looking for a refresher course? This three-hour introductory workshop taught by WHS art instructor Jen Fidler,  will cover sketching from observation, applying the rules of perspective, establishing strong composition and value ranges, and exploring the basics using both graphite and charcoal. Participants are welcome to bring small objects to draw on site or work from the still life provided by the instructor. (cost $10; register at main desk)

Tranquil Tuesdays
Tuesday, January 30, 9:15 am
Always wanted to start a meditation practice but don’t know how to start? Technology Librarian Brad McKenna, a meditator for over 15 years, will lead you through silent and guided meditations, share his personal experiences, and offer tips for success. Sessions will be 30 minutes. Join us for one, some, or all!

Ken Reid – TV Guidance Counselor presents This Day in History *RR
Thursday, February 1, 7 pm
Boston comedian and host of the TV Guidance Counselor Podcast Ken Reid uses back issues of TV Guide to discuss the viewing choices of our collective past. Through clips, ads and discussion, Ken will look back at this day in television history; discuss what we watched, and explain why and how it fits into our current popular culture.

Fiction Critique Group *RR

Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. Lighthouses Near and Far *RR
Monday, February 5, 2:30 pm
Join John Galluzzo as he tells unique stories about lighthouses from ghosts to storms, to shipwrecks, and famous visitors. The tour begins in Boston Harbor, continues to points north, south, and west, and returns to the Massachusetts coast.  John Galluzzo is the author of many books on the local history of towns south of Boston and is a regular contributor to South Shore Living, Ships Monthly, and other magazines.

Featured Cookbook: Small Victories by Julia Turshen              
If you love to cook and enjoy talking about food and sharing recipes then this group is for you.  Pick up a copy of the cookbook (or find a recipe from the book online). Bring your dish to the meeting and enjoy sampling everyone’s dishes! Please register; facilitator Lisa Crispin will then send an email asking for everyone’s recipe selections.

Interpreting the Financial Aid Reward Letter
For High School Seniors & Parents

Unravel the mystery surrounding financial aid award letters, understand what you’re actually receiving in aid, and how much college will truly cost with this workshop. Possible avenues for appeal, uncovering more potential aid, scholarships, and your questions regarding payment are covered.
