WILMINGTON, MA — Below is a round-up of what’s going on in Wilmington on Sunday, December 3, 2017:
Happening Today:
Weather: Partly sunny, with a high near 44. Calm wind.
Traffic Advisory: Butters Row Bridge will be closed through December 13. The MassDOT are repairing damaged bridge timber deck planks and timber stringers. Work will take place daily from 7am to 7pm. Detour routes are posted HERE.
In The Community: We’re One Wilmington (WOW) is holding its 7th Annual Festival of Trees on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 9am to 9am and Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 9am to 3pm at Villanova Hall (126 Middlesex Avenue). This free family-friendly event will feature a raffle of spectacular holiday trees, wreaths and baskets. There will also be baked goods, popcorn and refreshments for sale, as well as musical performances, a scavenger hunt and a special visit by Mrs. Claus. The event will include the Annual Angel Giving Tree tagged with holiday gift requests for community members in need. The entertainment and non-profit schedules can be found HERE.
In The Community: The Wilmington Sons of Italy will hold “Breakfast with Santa” at the Wilmington Knights of Columbus Hall (112 Middlesex Avenue). There are two sittings – 8:30am to 10am and 10:30am to noon. The breakfast will include scrambled eggs, waffles, hash brown patties, bacon, sausage, muffins, juice, milk and coffee. THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.
In The Community: Wilmington’s Harnden Tavern (430 Salem Street) will hold its Annual Holiday Social from 1pm to 4pm. This old-fashioned holiday celebration features fun for the entire family, including: Children’s holiday craft room; Seasonal music; Holiday decorations; and Refreshments. A donation of $5 per person, or $15 per family, is suggested. Wreathes and swags will be for sale. Have a question about the event? Call the Tavern at 978-658-5475.
In The Community: The New England Brass Band is holding a Christmas concert at 3pm at the Wilmington Congregational Church (220 Middlesex Avenue). Enjoy a wonderful afternoon of Christmas music for the entire family. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, with a maximum of $30 per family. Donations will be accepted at the door. CDs will be available for purchase at the concert. Light refreshments will follow the concert. Learn more HERE.
In The Community: The Shawsheen Tech Girls Hockey Team has organized a fundraiser at the Chipotle in Burlington (110 Burlington Mall Road) from 4pm to 8pm. 50% of each sale will be donated to the team. Just bring the flyer or show it on your phone.
