WILMINGTON, MA — At the most recent Wilmington Selectmen Meeting, Town Manager Jeff Hull provided the Board with a memo from DPW Director Mike Woods outlining recent equipment additions made to the Yentile Farm Recreation Facility.
Before the end of the year, five IP cameras with built-in infrared and one Exacq Network Video Recorder with 6TB of storage will be installed. The cameras will be connected to the Wilmington Police Department’s network.
A call box (DTX 4 zone solar powered radio box) has been installed so residents can quickly report a fire, medical, or police emergency to Wilmington dispatch. The Department of Public Works installed the foundation and connecting bolts and a contracted company installed the tower in late October. The box is now operational.
Automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), requested by the Health Department, have been purchased and will be installed once the security cameras are operational. The defibrillators, however, cannot be kept outside during the cold months.
Four 6-foot long benches and two 8-long picnic tables were purchased and installed by the Department of Public Works, per the request of the Recreation Department.
A cleaning system (KaiVac 1200 No-Touch Cleaning system) was purchased and installed by Public Buildings. The system is used to clean the restrooms and pavilion area.
A Gator utility vehicle and groomer has been purchased and is already being used by the Department of Public Works. The annual turf maintenance and cleaning will take place in the spring spring. The seasonal rain garden and mulch cleanup will be performed in the late fall and again in the spring.
Two educational signs on the carry-in, carry-out policy have been installed, as well as an additional rules sign on the turf field’s fence. More decorative rules and regulation signs will be installed in the spring.
