POLICE LOG for November 16: Trouble On The Roadway; Building Evacuated

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, November 16, 2017:

  • A 911 caller stated a female party fell asleep behind the wheel at the lights at the off ramp of Exit 41. Caller stated female party woke up and left scene. Wilmington Police notified North Andover Police, who located party at her residence. Situation checked OK — driver was fatigued. (1:37am)
  • A Woburn Street caller reported his trash barrel appears to have been struck by a vehicle sometime over night. Police notified DPW. (9:21am)
  • Police and fire responded to the smell of gas at Markham Metals on Jewel Drive. Building evacuated. Situation checked OK. Smell came from tractor trailer parked by doorway. (11:04am)
  • A walk-in party reported check fraud. (12:52pm)
  • Police received notice that Renewal by Anderson will be soliciting in the Main Street and Fairfield Road area, driving a white van. (4:01pm)
  • A 2-vehicle crash with injuries and airbag deployments took place on Concord Street. Portion of street was temporarily shut down. (4:47pm)
  • A caller reported her ex-husband tailgated her down Nichols Street this evening. She requested extra patrols of the neighborhood tonight. (6:20pm)
