POLICE LOG for November 10: Stargazer Causes Scare; Transformer Blows; Butters Row Bridge Issues

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are SIX highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, November 10, 2017:

  • For the second consecutive night, police noted the traffic saw horses blocking the access road at Butters Row Bridge were moved. Police requested DPW look into heavier saw horses. (1:53am)
  • A walk-in party reported their sideview mirror was struck by a box truck’s sideview mirror on Glen Road. Party tried to flag down driver, but truck did not stop. Party wanted the incident logged. (12:28pm)
  • A black 2007 Hyundai Elantra and a gray 2015 Toyota Corolla were involved in a crash at Salem Street and Ring Avenue. Both vehicles towed. Airbags deployed. One driver transported to hospital with injury. (5:00pm)
  • Police notified RMLD that a transformer blew on Main Street. (6:03pm)
  • A caller reported a man was laying on the ground on Main Street and didn’t respond when yelled at. Police responded. Man checked OK — he was stargazing while he waited for his girlfriend to get out of work. (7:49pm)
  • Police reported the road closure barracks blocking off access to the railroad tracks at Butters Row have been destroyed. Police notified DPW to remove broken pieces. (8:52pm)
