POLICE LOG for November 7: Summons Issued After Confrontation Over Detox Petition; Wilmington Woman Arrested For OUI With Dog In Car

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are EIGHT highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, November 7, 2017:

  • A Faneuil Drive resident reported losing a gold ring somewhere in town. (7:53am)
  • A Park Street resident requested DPW clean up car parts on her property from a car accident last night. (9:22am)
  • A caller reported a younger couple was smoking something out of a water bottle on Main Street. Police responded. Parties checked OK. (12:21pm)
  • A caller reported her daughter took her crash without permission. Vehicle was eventually returned. (12:32pm)
  • An employee at Windsor Place reported a missing elderly woman walked out the front door of the facility at approximately 10:52am this morning. Described as wearing a plaid coat with a red hood, pink shirt, black pants and shoes, and black purse.  Police issued BOLO and entered her missing in NCIC.  Surveillance footage at Mobil on the Run shows her walking past gas station towards Reading at 10:55am.  Reverse 911 call issued to residents.  State Police was notified to begin Silver Alert. State PD Air Wing on its way. Caller reported a female matching description walking on Franklin Street in Reading towards Haverhill. Caller reported a female possibly matching description near Reading Chinese restaurant towards Wakefield. Woman was located in Reading near Planet Fitness. Woman was not in need of medical attention. (1:00pm)
  • An employee of Vitality Wellness on Jefferson Drive reported someone attempted to break into the business sometime since yesterday. Damage was done to lock. (1:17pm)
  • A walk-in party reported being verbally accosted over collecting signatures regarding detox center at Market Basket. Requested extra patrols. One of the involved parties was issued a summons for larceny under $250.  The original walk-in party did not request that  summons for be issued and did not press charges against the involved party. (5:31pm) [Editor’s Note: According to a post on the Wilmington Community Facebook Group, the petitioner had his sign stolen.]
  • Gwen M. Evans (46, Wilmington) was arrested for OUI Liquor and Disorderly Conduct.  Arrested occurred after traffic incident in front of Congregational Church on Middlesex Avenue. Dog was in the vehicle. Dog’s owner from Tewksbury was contacted and retrieved pet before vehicle was towed. (6:11pm)
