POLICE LOG for October 25: 16 Year Old Arrested On Drug Dealing Charges; Alleged Assault At Restaurant

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Wednesday, October 25, 2017:

  • A gray 2007 Ford Focus struck a pole on Middlesex Avenue. Pole was intact, but moved. Police notified Verizon. Vehicle was towed. (12:47am)
  • An Avalon Drive caller reported his roommates vehicle was broken into sometime overnight. The vehicle’s window is smashed and tires are missing. Vehicle appears rummaged through. (7:30am)
  • Another Avalon Drive caller reported her vehicle’s tires were taken off and rims appear to have been stolen. Vehicle has been propped up on three tires. (7:56am)
  • A caller requested extra patrols in the Canal Street/Corey Avenue area during the times of 7:30am-8:30am and 2:30pm-4pm due to speeding vehicles during school time. (7:56am)
  • A Golden Ginger employee reported a co-worker hit her across the face at the restaurant. Police responded. (12:43pm)
  • Police installed 4 car seats during its weekly drop-in hours. (1:51pm)
  • After a 2-vehicle crash on Shawsheen Avenue, an operator received a citation for revoked registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and following too closely. (1:54pm)
  • Police received a 911 call from a child playing with the phone. Police responded and spoke with the child’s aunt, who confirmed there was no emergency. (2:19pm)
  • A Hanson Road resident reported a false unemployment claim was made utilizing the caller’s information. (2:30pm)
  • Police made a juvenile arrest (16 year-old) for possession to distribute a Class D drug and carrying a dangerous weapon. The arrest was made on West Street, near Windsor Place. (4:40pm)
  • Fire Department and RMLD responded to a wire fire on Cottage Street. (7:27pm)
