POLICE LOG for October 6: Drug Arrest; Assault & Battery; Teens Behaving Badly; Scam Calls

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Friday, October 6, 2017:

  • Robert G. Larkin (27, Reading) was arrested for Possession Of Class A Drug. Larkin was arrested in his vehicle on Englewood Drive. (1:13am)
  • Justin F. Schuurman (27, Woburn) was issued a summons for a license plate violation and abandoning a motor vehicle. (1:59am)
  • Robert S. Starbile (64, Billerica) was issued issues for Assault & Battery.  Police were called to West Springfield Auto Parts on Lowell Street, after one employee assaulted another and left. Employee was later pulled over on Route 38. Victim refused medical attention. (2:07pm)
  • A caller overhead several middle school-aged juveniles talking about a fight behind Panera that’s going to happen later in the day. Police checked area. (2:27pm)
  • A Westdale Avenue caller reported he received a pre-recorded call stating he has a warrant for his arrest. Caller recognized it was a scam call and just wanted to make the police aware. (4:02pm)
  • A Salem Street caller reported she received a phone call stating she was being awarded money for having no criminal record. Caller recognized it was a scam and provided no personal information. (4:36pm)
  • A Shady Lane Driver caller reported he received a phone call stating his grandchild was in jail. Caller recognized it was a scam and hung up. (5:50pm)
  • Police dispersed a large group, with 9 vehicles, from the Shawsheen School parking lot. Police told them not to gather there anymore. (10:28pm)
  • Citations were issued for OUI Liquor,  Negligent Operation, Marked Lanes Violation, and Speed after a multi-car crash at Glen Road and King Street. Crash involved one of the vehicles earlier spotted in the Shawsheen School parking lot. [Editor’s Note: I’m fairly certain the citations were given to a juvenile operator. No name is given. Operator’s mother was called to the station.] (11:03pm)
