Wilmington Youth Soccer’s Latest In-Town Game Summaries

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are Wilmington Youth Soccer in-town game summaries from Saturday, September 9, 2017.

Boys Grade 1 Games:

New York Red Bulls vs Colorado Rapids

The crowd was kept on the edge of their seats this week as the New York Red Bulls, led by the offensive skills of Davio Dicenso, David Jamieson, and Gabriel Cummings resulted in scoring opportunities by Patrick Jamieson and Cameron McCabe. The defense was not to be left out of this one either as Merit Bigambo and Logan Lopes kept the ball out of their zone for much of the game.

Columbus Crew vs Seattle Sounders

Nobody stayed home for this action packed game. The Columbus Crew’s Liam Callahan, Tony Lanzi, Benjamin Salvas, Evan Jageler, and Cam White scored, getting the crowd jumping out of their seats. Outstanding offense by Matthew Roque set up many scoring chances. The flawless defense of Michael Defilippo and Ryan Doherty provided great protection for the Goal Keepers

Houston Dynamo vs New England Revolution

The New England Revolution was also impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Jack Macleod, Peter Douzepis, Michael Belanger and Thomas Roofe leading to goals by Sean Marazi The defense showcased their skills today with Lucas Harris, Anthony Graziano, Vincent Demeriv and Collin Macleod keeping the ball out of their zone for much of the game.

DC United vs Chicago Fire

The crowd was kept on the edge of their seats this week as the DC United, led by the offensive skills of Theo Adamek, Ben Sawyer and Max Champness resulted in scoring opportunities by David Collins, Andrew Poyant, Nate Lawrence and Cooper Hunt. The defense was not to be left out of this one either as Michael Crowley and Noah Drane kept the ball out of their zone for much of the game.

Girls Grade 1 Games:

Chicago Red Stars vs. Boston Breakers

The air was full of excitement, as the much-anticipated match between Chicago Red Stars and Boston Breakers commenced. Fantastic ball skill were displayed by Olivia Howie, Taylor Stone, Ashley Anderson and Emily Falk. The midfield and defensive play of Leah Tucci, Tiley Lopes and Reighan Glover kept the Chicago Red Stars in excellent shape. The crowd roared to their feet when Ella Connolly and Isabella Deloiveria made some spectacular plays.

The Boston Breakers were impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Grace Daly and Kylie Afthim leading to goals by Eliana Goldstein, Ava Conde, Bella McCarthy, Katie McGrath and Nyla Chimwanda. Tenacious defense by Emma Mahnken and Carrie Gillis anchored the match.

Houston Dash vs. Orlando Pride

Nobody stayed home for this action packed game. The HOMETEAM’S Bridget and Charlotte scored, getting the crowd jumping out of their seats. Outstanding offense by Pauline, Alexa and Molly set up many scoring chances. The flawless defense of Mackenzie, Emily and Katherine provided great protection for the Goal Keepers.

On the other side of the ball for the Orlando Pride was an incredible offensive performance by Gauri Singh which lead to goals by Caitlin Barrett, Julia Marra, Marley White, and Julia Zaya to get the Orlando Pride on the board. With a rock solid defensive stand led by Callie Lamarche the Orlando Pride was never out of this game. The midfield team of Mikayla Field and Isabella Thibert could only be classified as awesome.

Kansas City FC vs. NC Courage

Nobody stayed home for this action packed game. Kansas City FC’S Naomi Cowles, Jayln Redmond, and Lily Korpal scored, getting the crowd jumping out of their seats. Outstanding offense by Madison Scanlon, Suki Harper and Alexis Wang set up many scoring chances. The flawless defense of Emma Moriarty, Lila Rosa, and Kaylee Chan provided great protection of the goal.

Boys Grade 2 Games:

New York Red Bulls vs. Seattle Sounders

The crowds gathered at the Shawsheen fields for this back and forth game. The NY Red Bulls led by brothers David and Jonathan Poulose got the crowd jumping out of their seats. Charlie Chioccariello, Caden Merritt, and Jacob McGahey led the scoring charge, while the great defensive effort of Mason Carr, Tommy Demers, and Dante DiGiovanni kept the action going!

On the other side of the ball for the Seattle Sounders was an incredible offensive performance by Jack Geldart, Joshua Lopez and Tyler Nevarez , while goals scored by Daniel Finn, Ryan Fitzgerald, Craig Forester and Garrett Lanagan got the Seattle Sounders on the board. With a rock solid defensive stand led by Marcus Dawson the Seattle Sounders were never out of this game.

 

Girls Grade 2 Games:

Orlando Pride vs NC Pride

The Orlando Pride were impressive on the offensive side of the ball with great skill being displayed by Leah Doucette, Caroline Broussard, Emily Laquidara, Kaylin Mulik, Abby O’Donoghue, and Evelyn LaClair leading to many scoring opportunities . The defense showcased their skills today with Alice Crowley, Julie McMullen, Lily Mehr, Emily Quamme, Aama Shah and Meghann Warford keeping the ball out of their zone for much of the game.
