POLICE LOG for September 11: Armed Robbery Arrest; Stolen Car; Employee Theft; Selectmen’s Meeting Drama

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are NINE highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, September 11, 2017:

  • A caller reported he lost his Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge at the intersection of Main Street and Burlington Avenue at 7:45pm last night. (12:01am)
  • Police cleared a broken chair from the roadway at the 93 North Exit 40 on-ramp. Police notified DPW to remove from side of the road. (2:33am)
  • Michael David Tallini (32, North Reading) was arrested for Armed Robbery. Tallini allegedly robbed Sonny’s Mobil on the Run on Lowell Street. (4:44am)
  • A walk-in party reported a trash barrel and recycling barrel were stolen from a Grove Avenue address. Police notified DPW. (7:23am)
  • Forrest Towing called the station to report they were towing a red 1998 Ford Taurus that had been parked at the pump with keys in it for a long period of time. Police advised towing company not to touch vehicle. Police responded. Vehicle was reported stolen out of Lowell. (8:59am)
  • Speedway manager reported an employee stole cash receipts and scratch tickets over the weekend. (10:51am)
  • Police issued 7 citations for unregistered dogs. (1:42pm)
  • An employee of The Corner Store reported he stopped a child from stealing two butane lighters from store. Police responded. Juvenile left, but employee took down their name and number. Police will follow up. (3:32pm)
  • At Town Hall during a Board of Selectmen’s Meeting, a member of the audience was very animated towards town administration and board officials. Police responded to keep the peace. (10:50pm)
