POLICE LOG for August 22: Teens Smoking Marijuana At Playground; Kids Drunk On Train?; Teen Attempts To Break-In To Sonic

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are ELEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Tuesday, August 22, 2017:

  • Paul J. Minichiello (41, Billerica) was arrested for operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license and on outstanding warrants (possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug). Police also arrested Nicole Augusta (32, Billerica) on outstanding warrants (possession of a Class A drug, possession of a Class B drug, possession of a Class E drug, forge/misuse of RMV document). The arrests occurred after police officer in his personal vehicle was following an erratic operator on Shawsheen Avenue. Police located vehicle at Cumberland Farms on Main Street. (6:42am)
  • Vehicles were reported egged on Sunday night and Monday night on Middlesex Avenue. (9:20am)
  • Pop Warner President reported ongoing issue with youths smoking marijuana in the woods behind the Town Hall playground during practices (5:30pm-8pm). President requested extra patrols. Police advised they be called if activity is seen in future. (11:13am)
  • After a reported dog bite on August 14, Animal Control Officer followed up with owner, who had willingly euthanized the dog. (11:36am)
  • A 20-year-old autistic man was reported missing by his brother. Police was able to locate.  Police cancelled two K9 units enroute for search. (11:55am)
  • Police found a set of keys at Town Hall.  They went to Planet Fitness to scan membership tag for identification. Police notified owner and returned keys. (12:33pm)
  • A caller reported a gray 2017 Honda Civic was traveling 75 MPH down Concord Street and blew through a red light at Concord Street and Woburn Street. Police were unable to locate. (2:36pm)
  • An Evergreen Drive resident reported her boss stole her medication and the pharmacy refuses to fill it. Caller requested to speak to an officer. (4:04pm)
  • A caller reported a juvenile male attempting to enter closed Sonic building by prying windows open. Police responded. Caller saw boy run behind McDonald’s. No entry was made or damage done to building. Police unable to locate. (5:24pm)
  • A resident reported she’s being stalked by someone she met online. (8:20pm)
  • Train personnel requested an officer meet conductor at Wilmington Center train station after three 10-to11-year-olds appear intoxicated, smell of alcohol, and aren’t unaccompanied by an adult.  Police responded. Police confiscated Class D drug for destruction. No further details. (8:55pm)
