POLICE LOG for August 21: 2 Juveniles Arrested, Hawk Rescued

WILMINGTON, MA  — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Monday, August 21, 2017:

  • Police issued summons to two juveniles (one age 15, one age 17) for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police came across them when one vehicle was trying to jump start the other at Church Street and Central Street. In total, 5 juveniles were on scene. Police contacted parents to come and pick up.  One vehicle was towed. Police also contacted the Reading Police’s School Resource Officer. (4:51am)
  • Caller reported neighborhood kids on bicycles regularly doing damage to his fruit trees and throwing apples around. Caller would appreciate extra patrols in the evening to move the kids along. (8:48am)
  • Police removed a hawk from netting it was caught in on Somerset Place. (9:32am)
  • Police transported an injured goose found on Fordham Road to Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts. (10:52am)
  • An employee at Speedway reported a possible drug transaction. Police responded, but didn’t observe anything suspicious on gas station’s video surveillance. Parties were sent on their way. (11:04am)
  • Police assisted with traffic at library’s solar eclipse viewing party. (2:37pm)
  • A Ledgewood Road caller requested extra patrols as his car was broken into a few weeks ago and just he noticed some individuals near the end of his street. (11:49pm)
