5 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (August 19, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Saturday, August 19, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southwest wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

#2) The Wilmington Rotary Club is hosting its 3rd Annual Ice Bucket Challenge at 10:30am at Rotary Park. All proceeds will go to the Angel Fund for ALS Research. Come on down and get drenched with ice cold water for a good cause!  You can also help by:

  • Sending a donation of any amount to Wilmington Rotary Club at P.O. Box 503, Wilmington, MA 01887.
  • Contacting people you know — your child’s coaches, teachers, tutors, etc.
  • Spreading the word; the bigger the crowd the larger the impact.
