WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Middle School Interim Principal Kevin Welch announced this week appointment of Daniel Faircloth to the school’s vacant Assistant Principal position.
“Dan joins our staff after spending the last seventeen years working in the Haverhill Public School System,” wrote Welch in an announcement to parents. “Dan has an extensive background that will be a true asset to the staff and students here at the Middle School. Throughout his career, Dan has excelled in a variety of different roles while working with the students of Haverhill. Dan has been a special education teacher, a program director, and most recently, an Assistant Principal overseeing the freshman class at Haverhill High School.”
According to Faircloth’s public LinkedIn profile, he received a bachelor’s in psychology/sociology from UMass Lowell; a teaching degree from Salem State University; and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from American International College.
Faircloth, a Tewksbury resident, has a deep background in special education, serving 12 years as a special education teacher at Haverhill Middle School.
Faircloth takes over for longtime Assistant Principal Terry Sheehan, who recently left Wilmington after 9 years of service to become an Assistant Principal in the Groton-Dunstable school district.
“I am looking forward to working with Dan and [our other Assistant Principal] Jeanette [Quirk] in the coming year as we work together to have a successful 2017/2018school year,” noted Welch.
Welch also thanked search committee members Ken Storlazzi, Jeanette Quirk, Lynda Spinazola, Deb Hornung, Whitney Jablonki, Katia DeStefano, Katie Jackson, and Lisette Packer for their assistance.
