5 Things You Need To Know In Wilmington Today (August 3, 2017)

WILMINGTON, MA — Here are FIVE things you need to know in Wilmington for Thursday, August 3, 2017.

#1) According to the National Weather Service, Wilmington will see a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2pm and 4pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Light southwest wind becoming south 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

#2) The Wilmington Police Association and Wilmington Recreation Department are holding their annual Police Beach Day from 11am to 2pm at Town Beach. This free community event includes fun competitions, sand castle contests, and a DJ. A BBQ lunch will be served by Wilmington’s finest.

#3) Larry Gilbert performs at Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar (193 Main Street) beginning at 6pm.

#4) The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is holding SIX programs today:

  • Baby Times (9:30am-10:15am)
  • Time For Twos (10:30am-11:15am)
  • Stop Motion Animation: Part 2 (2pm-4pm)
  • Civil Disobedience Discussion (7pm-8:30pm)

#5) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its typical Thursday activities, including:

  • Walking Group (9am)
  • Bocce (9:30am)
  • Art Class (10am)
  • Aerobics (10:30am)
  • Knitting (11am)
