WILMINGTON, MA — Here are SEVEN highlights from the Wilmington Police Log for Thursday, July 27, 2017:
- Police noticed an erratic operator pull into Shell Gas Station on Main Street. Driver checked OK. Driver was known to have broken into donation bins. Police followed vehicle to the highway. (12:50am)
- A Scaltrito Drive resident was concerned about increased hawk activity. Animal Control Officer spoke with USDA, who said the hawks just need to be left alone. (8:57am)
- A resident reported his mother called in a suspicious vehicle that pulled into their Kenwood Avenue driveway and then took off. It appeared the garage door was kicked in and items inside the garage are knocked over. (9:59am)
- Police assisted DPW at the Butters Row Bridge while they did some trimming. (10:31am)
- A Foley Farm Road resident reported an injured baby bunny in their backyard. Animal Control Officer decided to leave in nest and check back in a bit. (10:42am)
- Police issued 14 citations for unregistered dogs. (1:52pm)
- A caller reported an erratic operator on Main Street, swerving into lanes and nearly striking telephone poles. Vehicle was last seen entering Simard’s. Police located vehicle in Simard’s driveway. Operator admitted to texting and driving and was given a verbal warning. (8:17pm)
